What is it?

Tyvek (pronounced TIE-veck) is a high – density polyethylene synthetic paper like material; the name is a registered trademark of the DuPont Company.

Tyvek is very difficult to tear but can easily be cut by scissors or a craft knife. It can be coloured with almost anything including: Felt tip pens, Paint, crayons, fabric paints or printed with an inkjet printer.

Most importantly for us crafters, Tyvek has amazing properties when it gets near heat! It bubbles and distorts creating the most wonderful effects.

Our Tyvek sheets have a wide range of art and craft applications these include:

1. Card making and scrap booking – create your own highly original card toppers and backgrounds!
2. Embroidery – Widely used in the creative textile sector to add texture to  work also very popular for ‘Tyvek Beads’

The sheets are easy to cut with scissors or a craft knife and come in packs of 100 x A4 or 10 x A5 sheets as well.
